Wemo mini no homekit code. You must use the wemo app first to set it up locate the homekit code and then you can connect it to the apple home app. Wemo mini features a sleek new form factor that allows you to stack two mini smart plugs in the same outlet. You have to first set up the 1st gen wemo mini using the wemo app to see the homekit code in the hardware info section of the wemo app. For instructions on how to locate the homekit code click here. Your mobile device must be connected to the same wi fi where you want to install your wemo. Theres a wemo bridge on my network.
However wemo mini 1st gen requires the latest firmware update to add the homekit feature while wemo mini 2nd gen supports homekit right out of the box and no firmware update is needed. Wemo mini 2nd gen has a homekit sticker on the back while wemo mini 1st gen does not have one. Now they are not showing up in my homekit and i am unable to add them. No hub or subscription required compact size. If your wemo mini does not have an apple homekit code sticker you need to use the wemo app to connect the wemo mini to the apple home app. Homekit doesnt work with the old switches but i understand wemo is releasing a new model that does support homekit directly.
Make sure to have your wi fi password ready. Verify if your wemo supports apple homekit by checking if there is a homekit code label at the back or side of the device. Apologies for the oversight. Please know the 1st gen wemo mini smart plug f7c063 does not have a homekit code label on the device. No homekit code in wemo app i have two of the older wemo mini smart plugs the ones without the scannable code on the back and they were working fine until i update the software last night. Only needs wi fi.
