Dashboard glues also known as adhesives help in the prevention of the sliding objects. Smear the adhesive liberally on both parts and then remove the screwdriver and press the dash down hard.

How to glue dashboard back down. Any help is greatly appreciated. Take the clamps or tape off brush glue into the split covering both sides very well and let them dry until tacky. Damages can happen to bumpers within a moment in a parking lot or even on the busy roads. Its a shame but it was a bad design. This stuff has some heavy duty fumes and is really flammable so if you need to use the heat gun again to soften the curl be very very careful. Once i let that dry overnight i used contact cement for gluing the overlap onto the back edges of the dash panel.
Let it sit for about 10 minutes or so. Use a screwdriver handle or something to prop the dash cover up as you apply the adhesive to both surfaces. I found that once you use contact cement it grabs onto the dash vinyl and really doesnt want to let go so you need to make sure when you pull a section over the dash that you are doing it right. Be liberal with the adhesive since the mating surfaces arent perfectly flat. I used duct tape to strap it down around the steering column but also use manual pressure to ensure the dash is pulled down evenly. Then remove the screwdriver or whatever you used and press the dash cover down.
The dashboard is becoming to peel up on the part above the steering wheel. The only way to do this repair and it is the right way to do it is you will have to have the windsheild removed so that you have a open work aria then lift the open part of the dash clean both parts with paint thiner or denatured alcahal the adhisive you want to use is 3m fast tack trim adhisive glue both parts and press the vinyl pad back in place to the hard shell. Once the glue is ready press the curl down to the dash to bond it. Also what if your bumper or dashboard breaks down during the journey what will you do. You need to keep checking it every few minutes for about 20 30 minutes until the glue has really begun to set. I am going to attempt and re glue it back down.
