Easier to work with than steel and wont rust. Best of all this type of brake line will not rust. This means that all the road salt and grime you pick up in the winter is ineffective at rusting the outside of the tube. Meets sae specs volvo uses it on their cars but the other oems dont.
Ive made replacement brake lines on several vehicles using the copper nickel tubing. We use the nickel copper line at my shop if we cant find factory lines. Copper nickel tubing such as cunifer or nicopp offers what appears to be a miraculous alternativedespite being an arguably softer material than steel its dot approved for hydraulic use. In fact its psi ratings are only a little lower than that of steel still more than strong enough for brake applications which typically see a maximum of anywhere from 800 to 1500 psi. This copper nickel brake line tubing is actually an improvement over the original steel brake lines as it will not rust in the traditional sense and it is very easy to bend to shape and to form proper inverted double flares. Nickel copper lines are all ill ever use to replace the junk quality oem lines found on domestic american automobiles.
Its good stuff and id put more faith in it then plain steel line. Very easy to work with both in formingbending the line and also creating the flares for the end connections. Jegs nicopp brake lines contain seamless copper nickel alloy tubing that is as strong as steel rust proof and easier to work with than any other brake line on the market. Dot approved for hydraulic brake systems nicopp tubing bends 58 easier than traditional steel piping allowing it to be snaked into positions that conventional brake plumbing cant. Normal steel brake line is coated in a corrosion resistant material. Cunifer copper nickel brake line is corrosion resistant on the outside the exposed conifer copper nickel brake line is still 887 copper.
It is very easy to kink so just be aware of that when youre bending it. This is the only tubing i use now for brake and fuel line replacements. It also takes flares on the ends easily with either hand or hydraulic flaring tools. Excellent quality tubing which replaces the original rusted lines.
