Electrical Using A 2 Pole Breaker For 120v Circuit
Can i use a 2 pole breaker for 120v. Not ok for use on a 208y120 v system. Please register and join our community. Changing 220v line to 120v 325780 111206 0352 pm 111206 0352. This situation often occurs when a multi wire conductor is used to feed the 2 circuits. It cannot be used to supply 240 volts to a single circuit. A different type of doubled up breaker is a quad breaker which serves two 240 volt circuits but is the same width as a standard double pole breaker. 2 single pole breakers with a handle tie will trip individually if overloaded. The 2 pole breaker in your picture is labeled 120240 v that means the breaker is approved for 240 v phase to phase loads and 120 v phase to neutral loads.
