Msd ignition box problems. If there is a spark between the coil wire and the engine then both the 6a box and the coil are working which means the problem lies with the ignition pickup in the distributor. Took the old box that i thought was crap and hooked it up direct as well. This creates a magnetic field that builds strength thanks to the help of the iron core. After testing it it seems fine. A new box solved the problem. Car still isnt firing though. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and position the terminal so it is approximately 12 from a good ground.
Occasionally it will not start altogether. Tested it and voila got spark. Turn the ignition to the on position. Disconnect the msd white wire from the distributor points or the ignition amplifier.
